The first recorded painting that I have are from when I was 15. When I was awarded a certificate of merit in the Caltex Art Competition in 1962 I then knew that that art would figure in my future life choices. my father, encouraged my interest in art and in 1963 he bought me a barn hut and this became my first studio.
Exact dates are hard to define but I remember locations and settings of these works, the trees surrounding my house, the animals of nearby farmlands and the coastlines nearby.
